Specialty papers Plus

Hello Everyone

Today I am going to introduce a great company called Specialty Papers Plus. I have been using there papers for a while now and I love it.

We all think of things like, stamps, inks, punches, embossing tools, and so on. But what about the paper. Good paper is the foundation of our projects. We are always looking for good paper. Well this company has sturdy card stock for all the cards, boxes, and scrap booking pages we want to make. The  Astroparche Aged Cover card stock folds smooth and crisp. No bad edges, like splitting or white centers showing through. The Stardream Amethyst  paper is beautiful. These are the two papers I used in this project.

I had a great time making this card. The card stock and paper take embossing powders very well,as you can see the heat gun made beautiful images. I used punches and die cuts, clean cuts, smooth edges. The distress inks work well and stamping images come out very clear and bright.

I used an  iridescent spray on the card stock and because it is of a great weight it absorbed the spray with no problem and the parchment paper had great textured feature.

They have great card stock, Parchment paper, Pearlescent paper, and Metallic paper,  all in different weights, and sizes. Most of the time we are limited to US letter size 8 1/2 x 11 or 12 x 12. Here we can get bigger sizes if we want to make boxes or envelopes.
Right now when you place an order you get 50 sheets of the Aged 65 lb. Cover  Gold card stock FREE. Yes it is the same paper you see here in the pictures.  Also they have a great  shipping program.  And now for the COUPON  just for visting my site type in the word "HappyHolidays" and you will get 10% off your parchment paper order.

I would love for you to make a project with this wonderful paper and place it on the specialty papers plus site. They have a page just for projects called  Customer Creations. To get some of this fantastic paper go to http://www.specialtypapersplus/ and check it out.

September challege

 Hello  crafters
    Thank you for stopping by.
.I am so honored to be the guest designer this month. The theme this month is Fall. I started my card out with a piece of glossy card stock. Then I mixed some of the Distress Ink Pad Refills with a small amount of hairspray and some Pearlex. I put it in Mini Misters - Assorted Colors - 3 pc and sprayed the paper. Before the droplets dried I used a can of air and spread the colors around. After that I dried the cardstock with my heat gun. Now it was time to stamp.

I used the Ultimate Crafter's Companion tool to measure and make the folds for the card and used the CleverCut 5-in-1 Paper Trimmer (which is our prize for this month) to cut the brown and orange card stock for the framing of the design. I used the Extra Strong Permanent Tape Runner to put the card together.

The next stamp I used was Flower Fairy Unmounted Stamp Set - Zinnia, the zinnia flower is one of my favorites. I stamped 2 of them on cream colored card stock and colored them with water color pencils. After cutting them out, I glued one down with Mono Multi Glue and used the Double Sided Adhesive Foam Strips - 33 Pieces to create a 3-D effect. I like the strips because you can cut the size you need. I added some little 3-D acorns inside and out.

I then stamped A Little Bit Sketchy Stamp Set - Autumn Leaves (now my favorite fall stamp) and used Rock-A-Blocks 4 Piece Set so I had the right size for every stamp. I also used the StazOn Ink PadsStazon works well on glossy paper. It gives you crisp lines and it dries fast so you can stamp over it with no fear of blending colors.

The last thing I wanted was a piece of ribbon to put on the front. I didn't have the color green I wanted so I made the color myself. I used white crinkled ribbon and on my 15" x 18" Inkssentials Non-stick Craft Sheet I put the ribbon and ink together and mixed it until I had the color I wanted. I dried the ribbon with the heat gun and tied it on the card.

clean up was easy, just wash with water. I cleaned my stamps with StazOn All Purpose Cleaner and Rubit-Scrubit Cleaning PadBoth these products make cleaning up easy and keeps the stamps soft.
I had a great time making this card. I hope you check out all the great stamps and products at http://www.crafterscompanion.com/ and enter this month's Fall Challenge. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
